“The new extension at the Home of Rolls-Royce at Goodwood is a
once-in-a-generation project that will enable us to build ever more
extraordinary motor cars for our clients worldwide, safeguarding our
business’s future and its immense contribution to the UK economy for
decades to come. This new Social, Local, Economic Value report
reveals that the presence of up to 700 tradespeople on site has
brought new business worth over £3 million in the last year alone,
directly into Chichester and the local area; we expect strong levels
of local spending to continue for the duration of the build.
Throughout the project, we have worked closely with our neighbours,
Westhampnett Parish Council and local councillors, and we remain
grateful for their continued support.”

Andrew Ball, Head of Corporate Relations, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars

The landmark extension project currently under
construction at the Home of Rolls-Royce at Goodwood has already added
more than £3 million directly into the local economy, according to research.

The new Social, Local, Economic Value (SLEV) report, compiled by
the project’s main contractor, TSL, shows that spending with local
businesses involved in the supply chain totalled just over £3.1
million in 2025.

Local hotels have seen new business worth more than £500,000,
with some now booked for weeks or even months in advance at a time.

The project has supported the creation of high-value roles, with
115 people recruited by local firms across the supply chain.

The SLEV report is the result of months of meticulous
data-gathering and analysis by the project’s main contractor, TSL,
which routinely conducts such studies on schemes of this magnitude,
complexity and importance. It is the second major examination of
Rolls-Royce’s contribution to the local economy, building on the
foundational Economic Impact Report produced by the London School of
Economics (LSE) in 2023. That study, the first of its kind in the
company’s history, demonstrated that Rolls-Royce Motor Cars adds more
than £500 million to the UK economy annually, with almost 20%
generated locally in Chichester, West Sussex and surrounding areas.

The extension’s new building, which represents a total
investment of over £300 million, has reached a significant milestone
and is now fully weathertight, with the fit-out of Rolls-Royce’s
specialist technologies already underway. Among their most significant
tasks is installing a new Surface Finish Centre (paint shop) together
with creating dedicated areas for Bespoke and Coachbuild commissions.
The extension is on schedule to be fully operational in 2029.

Press Contact: Andrew Ball
Tel: +44-1243-384-064
E-mail: andrew.ball@rolls-roycemotorcars.com

Corporate,Press Release,Home of Rolls-Royce

Andrew Ball, Head of Corporate Relations, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars is delighted to announce the
opening of a new permissive footpath completing a long-term programme
of improvements to ancient rights of way. The route serves the
villages adjoining the Home of Rolls-Royce at Goodwood. Councillor
Jeremy Hunt, West Sussex County Council, was the guest of honour
during a ceremonial walk, hosted by Werner Lulay, Director of Finance
at Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, to mark the official opening of the newly
opened footpath.

Running parallel to an existing bridleway, the new footpath
connects two historic rights of way – Footpaths 416 and 417 – for the
first time, to create a ‘clean boots’ circular walk around
Westhampnett and the Home of Rolls-Royce. Over the past year, both
footpaths have been comprehensively upgraded to provide year-round,
all-weather access. Prior to these improvements, they were narrow,
badly overgrown and so muddy as to be all-but impassable in wet weather.

Footpath 416, linking the villages of Westerton and
Westhampnett, was opened in August 2024 following resurfacing to
coincide with the start of the new academic year. Similar works to
widen, resurface and landscape Footpath 417 were completed in December
2024, and inaugurated by local Chichester MP, Jess Fuller-Brown. Both
footpaths have already proved popular with local residents,
particularly children attending The March CE Primary School in
Westhampnett, as well as their families, and visitors exploring this
beautiful corner of West Sussex.

The improvements to the existing footpaths, and the creation of
the new link, have all been instigated and funded by Rolls-Royce Motor
Cars, in close consultation with Westhampnett Parish Council and West
Sussex County Council.

“Just four months ago, I signalled the start of above-ground
construction on our £300 million extension project by signing the
first steel column to be installed. My fellow Board Directors and I
have now signed the last beam to be lifted into place, completing
the internal framework of our new main building. The project is
running at great pace, with the external structural work due to be
finished in the autumn. This rapid progress reflects the extension’s
fundamental importance to our business, providing the additional
space and upgraded equipment we need to continue expanding our
Bespoke and Coachbuild operations, in line with global client demand.”

Chris Brownridge, Chief Executive, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars

Rolls-Royce has marked a major milestone in
the development of its new extension at the Home of Rolls-Royce,
Goodwood. In a formal ceremony, members of the company’s Board of
Directors signed the final steel beam to be installed in the
building’s internal structure, before it was lifted into place at the
structure’s highest point.

The signing ceremony comes just four months after Chief
Executive, Chris Brownridge, signed the first of 437 steel columns,
each standing up to 13 metres high, marking the beginning of the
building’s structure. The new 40,000m² building will support the
marque’s expanding Bespoke and Coachbuild capabilities and house a new
Exterior Surface Centre.

With the full steel framework now in place, attention now turns
to the next phase of the project, which includes cladding the
structure and integrating it with the existing facility via a 30
metre, 20-tonne steel bridge, delivered and installed as a single
assembly earlier this year.

The ceremonial signing evokes an earlier Rolls-Royce tradition,
in which supervisors would initial completed body panels or mechanical
components with a chinagraph pencil before passing them to the next
stage in assembly. This practice itself echoed Sir Henry Royce’s own
insistence on personally inspecting and approving every new component
– often requiring near-daily, 400-mile round trips between the
company’s original factory in Derby and Sir Henry’s home, ‘Elmstead’,
in West Wittering. Just a few miles from the marque’s present-day home
at Goodwood, Elmstead served as both a retreat and a workspace for
Royce, who would test, refine and sign off designs there – a legacy
that continues on the very same Sussex roads still used today by the
marque’s test and development team.

Costing over £300 million, the landmark new extension represents
the largest single investment in the Home of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars
since it launched in 2003. Once completed, it will further strengthen
the company’s economic contribution to the United Kingdom, which
currently exceeds £500 million annually.

Press Contact: Andrew Ball
Tel: +44-1243-384-064
E-mail: andrew.ball@rolls-roycemotorcars.com

Corporate,Press Release,Home of Rolls-Royce

Andrew Ball, Head of Corporate Relations, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars

Children from The March CE Primary School have
planted the first new tree on the extension site at the Home of
Rolls-Royce at Goodwood, during a special ceremony. A group of 30 Year
2 pupils gathered to plant a young elderberry tree beside Footpath
417, which runs alongside the site and forms part of a newly upgraded
walking route.

The elderberry tree is the first of thousands of trees and
shrubs that will be introduced to the site over the coming months.
Rolls-Royce is committed to delivering a biodiversity net-gain (BNG)
above the 10% statutory requirement set under the plant extension
project’s planning consent.

As part of their visit, the children also sowed wildflower and
grass seeds on the earth bund that helps integrate the site into the
wider landscape. Once established, the new meadow will support
pollinators such as bees and butterflies, while contributing further
to the BNG objective.

To commemorate the occasion, each child received their own
trowel – a lasting memento of their contribution to the site’s
transformation, and an invitation to continue their own future
botanical and conservation endeavours.

Footpath 417 is a popular public right of way, reopened
in December 2024 following extensive remediation and upgrading work
funded by Rolls-Royce Motor Cars.

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has marked another milestone
in the above-ground construction of its new extension at the Home of
Rolls-Royce at Goodwood, with the installation of a bridge linking the
existing premises with the site of what will become the new building,
currently under construction alongside it.

Made from steel, the bridge is 30m (100ft) long, 4.4m (14ft)
wide and 10m (32ft) high; it weighs just over 20-tonnes. Yet despite
its size and weight, its ingenious design means the bridge appears to
float in the air – just like the Home of Rolls-Royce’s other famous
walkway, the Skywalk, that ‘floats’ above the marque’s production areas.

The new bridge was prefabricated off-site by a specialist
metalworking company in Scotland and delivered to the Home of
Rolls-Royce by road as a single assembly. This was a significant
organisational and logistical challenge, especially on the narrow
roads of rural West Sussex in the journey’s final stages. The
Rolls-Royce project team worked closely with transport, technical and
construction partners, relevant authorities and the local community to
ensure the bridge arrived on time, in perfect condition and with
minimal disruption to residents and other road users.

The bridge, which has been carefully integrated into the
existing building, is the first physical connection between the
original premises that opened in 2003, and the site of the new 40,000
sq m (430,500 sq ft) building. Once complete, this new structure will
house a new Surface Finish Centre (paint shop), as well as new
equipment and production areas for Bespoke and Coachbuild commissions,
and a Logistics area.

Press Contact: Andrew Ball
Tel: +44-1243-384-064
E-mail: andrew.ball@rolls-roycemotorcars.com

Corporate,Press Release,Home of Rolls-Royce

“World Bee Day is always a big event in the Rolls-Royce calendar,
and this year our participation takes on a truly international
flavour, with activity in five countries. At the original Apiary at
the Home of Rolls-Royce at Goodwood, we were especially honoured to
welcome our Junior Beekeeper, Poppy Liddle, for her first inspection
visit this year. She was among the very first to see the six hives
with their new historic names, bestowed upon them as part of our
120th anniversary commemorations. We’re delighted to recognise and
celebrate the fundamental role of bees and other pollinators in
company with beekeepers, conservationists and other caring people
all around the world.”

Andrew Ball, Head of Corporate Relations and Heritage,
Rolls-Royce Motor Cars

Every year, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars marks World Bee
Day on 20 May. This year, the celebrations take on a truly
international dimension, with activities at the company’s original
Apiary at the Home of Rolls-Royce in Goodwood, and the new beekeeping
operations the marque has established elsewhere in the world.

GOODWOOD
The original Goodwood Apiary was
established in 2017 in response to the drastic decline in the
population of honeybees, which are crucial pollinators for a host of
food crops, as well as wild plants.

The Apiary is home to a colony of around 250,000 honeybees. Every
year, the honey produced is carefully processed, jarred and labelled
by a team of dedicated volunteer beekeepers. The honey is made
available only to visiting clients and VIPs.

Ahead of this year’s World Bee Day, Rolls-Royce welcomed 11-year-old
Poppy Liddle, honorary Junior Beekeeper, back to the Home of
Rolls-Royce at Goodwood. Poppy, who lives in nearby Selsey, West
Sussex, first came to the marque’s attention in 2021 when a story
appeared in the pages of the local newspaper concerning the theft of
her own beloved beehive. Moved by her plight, Rolls-Royce arranged for
Poppy, then aged eight, to visit the Goodwood bees; the occasion
culminated in her appointment to the unique and prestigious office of
Junior Beekeeper.

Making her first inspection visit this year, Poppy was
confronted by her charges swarming in a nearby tree. Working with
beekeeper Jay Hampton, she helped return them to the Apiary, where
another important duty awaited her: inaugurating the newly renamed beehives.

When the six beehives were first installed in 2017, they were
named after Phantom, Ghost, Dawn, Wraith, and Cullinan, the
Rolls-Royce motor cars meticulously crafted at Goodwood at that time,
with the sixth one named Spirit of Ecstasy. Today Dawn and Wraith,
have ceased production; whilst the marque has added Spectre to its
product portfolio.

Rolls-Royce has therefore used the occasion of the marque’s
120th anniversary this year to rename the hives after six principal
characters from its founding story, as featured in its year-long
retrospective series, Rolls-Royce ‘Makers of the Marque’. The hives
will henceforth bear illustrious names including Charles Rolls, Henry
Royce and Eleanor
Thornton, engraved on the same stainless-steel treadplates which
are fitted to the marque’s pinnacle product, Phantom.

After the inauguration, Poppy enjoyed a private tour of the Home
of Rolls-Royce, conducted by some of the skilled Apprentices currently
training with the marque.

To celebrate World Bee Day, and as part of its wider community
outreach, Rolls-Royce staff and members of the Chichester Beekeeping
Association also visited the nearby March CE Primary School. Children
from Years 1 and 2 examined an empty beehive and beekeeping equipment,
learning about bees’ vital role as pollinators in sustaining biodiversity.

A HIVE OF ACTIVITY: ROLLS-ROYCE APIARIES AROUND THE
WORLD
Following the success of the Goodwood Apiary, the
marque has extended its beekeeping activities to other regions around
the world.

UAE
The Dubai Apiary was established on World
Bee Day in 2021 by Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Middle East & Africa and
Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Dubai (AGMC). Like the original at Goodwood,
the Dubai Apiary comprises six hives. However, these hives have been
specially designed and constructed to withstand the Emirates’ high
temperatures. The bees are also specific to the region, bred from the
indigenous Apis mellifera jemenitica bee and perfectly
adapted to the local environment.

As well as being home to 60,000 Emirati honeybees, the Apiary is
both a refuge for other pollinator species and an important education
hub. Since 2023, it has hosted a number of workshops exploring the
importance of pollinators in maintaining biodiversity, healthy
ecosystems and food security, inspiring students from schools and
universities across the country.

SOUTH AFRICA
Launched in 2023 in partnership
with Grootbos Foundation, the Rolls-Royce Apiary in Johannesburg was
the second initiative of its kind in the Middle East & Africa
region. The six beehives are situated in an award-winning
3,500-hectare private nature reserve, which boasts over 900 plant
species, 118 bird species, 29 mammals and 21 amphibians. The Apiary is
part of the Grootbos Foundation’s tireless work maintaining the purity
of the reserve and the local bee population.

Ahead of World Bee Day, Rolls-Royce is also delighted to
announce that two new Apiaries are to be added to its growing
international portfolio.

SAUDI ARABIA
Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Riyadh has
established five beehives in Baljurashi, in the south-west of the
Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The city lies within the Al Baha region,
which has a strong apicultural industry and hosts an annual
International Honey Festival, attended by experts from over 30 countries.

OMAN
As part of continuing pollinator
preservation efforts across the region, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Muscat
have installed four new beehives at the Alila Jabal Akhdar resort
–2,000 metres above sea level.

BAHRAIN
Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Bahrain is
establishing five new beehives at the very heart of the Kingdom in the
lush grounds of the Royal Golf Club just 20 minutes from the capital, Manama.

Press Contact: Andrew Ball
Tel: +44-1243-384-064
E-mail: andrew.ball@rolls-roycemotorcars.com

Corporate,Press Release,Home of Rolls-Royce

Rolls-Royce announces new brand identity further modernising the marque

New identity continues Rolls-Royce's journey from automotive
manufacturer to House of Luxury

New visual language will resonate with younger demographic of clients

Leading design agency Pentagram appointed to envision new
Rolls-Royce identity, to be rolled out from September

"Take the Best that Exists and Make it
Better". Since these words were spoken by the marque's
co-founder, Sir Henry Royce, Rolls-Royce has experienced evolutionary
change, from the creator of the ‘Best Car in the World’, to the
world’s leading House of Luxury. The company’s products are today
revered as exemplary examples of hand-craftsmanship, born from the
finest materials and honed with masterful skill, while the brand and
its illustrious figurine, the Spirit of Ecstasy, have become icons for
the very best and truest examples of their kind. Indeed, Rolls-Royce,
is, a synonym for luxury.

In recent years, Rolls-Royce has experienced change at a quicker
rate than ever before in its storied past. The Rolls-Royce portfolio
has expanded to five models, each with their own distinct character,
and almost every motor car created at the marque’s Global Centre of
Luxury Manufacturing Excellence in Goodwood, West Sussex, is Bespoke –
tailored to the lifestyle requirements of diverse and discerning
patrons. The introduction of Black Badge, the marque's alter-ego, has
met the needs of a subset of these clients, answering their call for
an edgier, alternative Rolls-Royce, one that carries an assertive and
dominant persona. With such choice, it is no surprise, therefore, that
the age and demographic of the marque’s clients have decreased
significantly to an average of just 43.

How then, does a brand present itself via its visual language
and remain true to its heritage while speaking to its bright and
contemporary future?

Torsten Müller-Ötvös, Chief Executive, Rolls-Royce, commented,
“As the marque's digital presence increases, there has never been a
more important time for the visual language of the company to reflect
our standing as the leading luxury brand in the world. We have
embarked on a fascinating journey of modernising our brand identity to
echo those changes seen in our portfolio, our client demographic,
their lifestyle and the luxury world that surrounds them."

Rolls-Royce appointed Marina Willer, partner at Pentagram – a
multi-disciplinary design studio which is revered within its field –
to create a new brand identity that could move beyond the mechanics of
being the ‘Best Car in the World’, to encapsulate the brand’s presence
and standing as a true House of Luxury. The identity was designed to
appeal to the new demographic of clients and all that they represent
both digitally, and physically.

Pentagram embarked upon a deep exploration of Rolls-Royce,
including its products – both new and old, its design ethos, its
designers, items that are sacrosanct to the marque, and, the unique
relationship the marque maintains with its clients. They spent time in
the manufactory, understanding the very essence of Bespoke and how
this was key to the establishment of contemporary Rolls-Royce.

Marina Willer, commented, “What soon became apparent is that
Rolls-Royce has evolved from being regarded as an automotive
manufacturer into a leading light in the world of luxury. It was
essential for us to ensure that the brand's new identity reflected
this shift. We needed to present Rolls-Royce in a forward-facing,
fresh and relevant way - speaking to new audiences while respecting
the company’s loyal clients."

Willer was able to approach the re-design from a completely
fresh perspective. "I do not come from an automotive background.
This vantage point provided me with the opportunity to observe
Rolls-Royce as a manufacturer of luxury products. My ambition was to
celebrate the luxuriousness of the brand while providing it with the
means to visually communicate with Rolls-Royce’s younger, increasingly
diversified audiences.”, she commented.

The Spirit of Ecstasy
The Spirit of Ecstasy is
an instantly recognisable, modern icon of British luxury. Having
graced the prow of Rolls-Royce motor cars since 1911, today, she
remains one of the world's most famous symbols, embodying beauty,
luxury, style and perfection.

The Spirit of Ecstasy will now gain increased prominence in the
marque's brand identity. While the sculpture that leads each motor car
in silent grace remains unchanged, an iteration of the enigmatic
figurine has evolved into the form of an illustration – one that reads
clearly in today's virtual world.

The original figurine was drawn and sculpted by British artist
Charles Sykes. In homage to this historical commission, Chris
Mitchell, a leading illustrator of brand and identity icons, was
called upon by Pentagram to envisage the distilled form of the iconic
statuette. Working closely with Pentagram’s direction, Chris, drawing
on her quiet power and authoritative nature, paid close attention to
her proportions which embrace strength and power that cannot be deemed
fragile or meek. When depicted in two-dimensional form, her direction
has changed from left to right, boldly facing the future, reflective
of the marque itself.

Marina Willer, commented, "The use of the Spirit of Ecstasy
marks a shift in the resonance of the brand – from an automotive to a
lifestyle context. She commands an aspirational quality in the luxury
sphere and by placing her at the centre of the visual language. The
Spirit of Ecstasy can now be interpreted as the muse for the marque,
in addition to the motor cars themselves."

Colours
When choosing a colour palette for the
new identity, Pentagram’s design team initially turned its attention
to the company’s products. Rich in textural materiality, wooden brown
hues and graphite coloured technical fibres complemented a colourful
array of Rolls-Royce leathers. Although true to their artisanal
origins, brown and slate palettes confined the identity to the past.
The desire was to seek a more expressive, luxurious colour palette,
one appealing to both male and female clients, one with a future vision.

Pentagram was drawn to purple hues, specifically those with a
deep and majestic tone. Historically rare in nature and with roots in
mythology, art, piety and royalty, purple has always signified wealth
and power. In a nod to the Spirit of Ecstasy, a colour named Purple
Spirit will pave the way for the future of luxury by becoming
Rolls-Royce's signature colour.

A metallic Rose Gold is chosen to complement this colour. This
elegant and modern hue will be reserved for items of longevity and
used only in printed form. A wider palette of expressive colours has
been determined to be used alongside these primary tones.

Sami Coultas, Bespoke Colour and Trim designer, Rolls-Royce,
commented, “Purple Spirit has a deep and powerful tone. It is a colour
of modernity that evokes connotations of the dark and majestic night.
It has an energy that conjures emotion with thoughts of strength and
ambition – a tone well suited to inspiring greatness. This will be
complemented by a foiled Rose Gold which will add elegance and grace
to the marque’s printed materials.”

The Noir imagery which surrounds Rolls-Royce’s Black Badge range
is now punctuated by bursts of colour, reflecting each model’s launch
specification, illustrating the bold nature of its signature alter ego.

Badge of Honour / Wordmark / Monogram
The double
'R' Badge of Honour is a timeless expression of true luxury. The
badge, representing Rolls and Royce, the marque’s founding fathers, is
known world-wide as a symbol of engineering excellence and the very
best of human endeavour. It is no surprise therefore, that this famed
signifier remains unchanged. The Badge of Honour will reside on the
marque's products alone – reserved solely for the precious creations
born at the Home of Rolls-Royce in Goodwood, West Sussex.

The Monogram also retains its original form but replaces the
Badge of Honour on collateral, while the Wordmark 'Rolls-Royce Motor
Cars', as found presiding above the door of the marque's
establishments, was found to be corporate and unrepresentative of the
marque's standing as a House of Luxury.

Pentagram uncovered typography in the marque's archives from the
1930's and used an art-deco style as the basis from which to envisage
a new Wordmark – one suitable for the modern-day Rolls-Royce. The
words 'Motor Cars' have reduced in size, with the emphasis reverting
to Rolls-Royce, in recognition of the marque's significantly wider
influence outside of the automotive industry. The Wordmark has become
more refined in its appearance, depicting the quiet, whispering power
of contemporary Rolls-Royce. Special significance has been paid to the
letter 'R', to provide additional stability and prominence to this
important character in the Rolls-Royce script.

Typeface
Pentagram’s design team explored
multiple typefaces in search of a font that depicts luxury, without
being overtly decorative. They believed the font must also demonstrate
the connection with the marque's rich history. The chosen typeface,
Riviera Nights, stems from the same family as Gil Sans Alt, the
marque's previous font, but with additionally crafted and bevelled letters.

The Spirit of Ecstasy Expression
A wholly new
visual treatment of the Spirit of Ecstasy has been created, called The
Spirit of Ecstasy Expression. With an aethereal yet tech-like feeling,
The Expression adds a cutting-edge aura to the new visual identity.
Contemporary in appearance, The Expression speaks of the marque's
modern lifestyle presence.

Akin to a silken fabric, The Expression adopts a fluid form and
is versatile in nature. An innovative digital tool that uses coding
has been developed by Pentagram to enable The Expression to be used on
any surface, from projection to embroidery, printing to engraving. It
can be found in both physical form at the marque's global
establishments and in digital form – connecting the elements of the
marque's portfolio. The Expression will become a distinctive and
recognisable element of the marque's visual language, a key signifier
of a House of Luxury.

MUSE
– The Rolls-Royce Art Programme
Marina Willer’s
previous appointment for Rolls-Royce was to design an identity for the
new vision of the Rolls-Royce Art Programme. Re-launched in 2019,
Muse consists of two new biennial initiatives, the Dream
Commission and the Spirit of Ecstasy Challenge. Willer
and team designed a distinct identity which captures the programme’s
commitment to moving image art while linking it to the marque via an
adaptation of The Expression.

club, the Whispers Application.

An online game has been devised to entertain and amuse
Rolls-Royce enthusiasts who will not be lucky enough to attempt to
solve and decipher the code of Wraith Kryptos Collection for
themselves. Inspired by, but not linked to, the Wraith Kryptos
Collection, anyone with a penchant for cryptography may enter the challenge.

Consisting of four different levels, players are initially
invited to guide an orb through a maze by tilting their mobile device
in the direction they wish to travel, in a time-pressured challenge.
Next, a series of questions will reveal just how keen the
cryptographer player really is.

The third level will test the observation skills of the
participant – only the most cunning will succeed! The final phase
consists of cryptographic ciphers, designed to boggle and bewilder.
This level is the reserve of the most agile and determined minds alone.
Young Designer Competition, which has attracted more than 5,000
entries from children aged 16 and under in more than 80 countries
around the world.

The competition aimed to stimulate design talent, inspire
greatness and provide a welcome distraction for children living under
Covid-19 self-isolation and social-distancing restrictions.
Contestants were asked to design their dream Rolls-Royce of the
future, incorporating Bespoke features and capabilities they could
conjure from their imagination.

Launched in early April, the competition proved so popular that
the original mid-May deadline for submissions was extended by two
weeks. When entries finally closed on 2 June 2020, more than 5,000
illustrations had been received from aspiring young designers in over
80 countries.

From these entries, the Rolls-Royce Design team has selected
shortlisted entries, which are available to view in a special online
viewing room. The overall winner will be announced in mid-July.

Gavin Hartley, Head of Bespoke Design, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars,
who will be selecting the winners together with members of his team,
said, “We’ve been absolutely overwhelmed by the international response
to our Young Designer Competition. And it’s not just the number of
entries that has impressed us - the quality of the children’s designs
is staggering, showing incredible imagination, creativity and flair.
We wanted to give children the chance to let their imagination flow
freely – it’s clearly struck a chord. They’ve responded magnificently
– and given us an extremely difficult task in selecting our shortlist
and winner!”

He added, “Rolls-Royce encourages and enables the pursuit of
dreams. As well as giving children a way to express their visions,
this competition has really inspired us as a design team. It’s
reminded us of the sheer power of the human imagination, and
challenges us to bring that sense of scale, possibility and greatness
to making our customers’ dreams a reality.”

Following an overwhelming response from children around the
world, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars is extending the deadline for entries in
its Young Designers Competition to Monday 1 June 2020. This gives
aspiring designers up to the age of 16 an additional two weeks to
create and submit their dream Rolls-Royce of the future.

Launched in early April, the competition has already attracted
more than 2,000 entries from children in over 70 countries worldwide.
Its original aim was to stimulate design talent and provide a welcome
distraction for children from self-isolation and social-distancing
measures. Although some countries are starting to ease their lockdown
restrictions, many children are still unable to attend school, and
their normal interactions and activities are likely to remain
curtailed for some weeks to come.

The overall winner will receive a once-in-a-lifetime prize: a
fully rendered illustration of their design. Runners-up will receive a
certificate individually hand-signed by Torsten Müller-Ötvös, the
Chief Executive Officer of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars.

One lucky UK entrant will receive two additional prizes when the
UK’s own Coronavirus countermeasures are eased. As well as travelling
to school in style in a chauffeur-driven Rolls‑Royce for themselves,
their school will be given a new Greenpower electric car kit, allowing
them to take part in the UK’s number-one schools motorsport
competition, the annual Greenpower Challenge.

Gavin Hartley, Head of Bespoke Design, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars,
will be judging the entries together with members of his team. He
said, “We’re delighted by the sheer inventiveness, vision and detail
we’re seeing in the children’s designs. Some of the ideas are truly
extraordinary and have really got us thinking; it’s inspiring us as a
design team to see things differently and challenge our own notions of
what’s possible. We’re really looking forward to the judging process,
but it’s going to be a huge challenge to pick our winners.”
2019 House Charity, Home-Start Arun, Worthing & Adur, on Leap Year
Day, Saturday 29 February. Around 130 invited guests and VIPs gathered
at the Home of Rolls-Royce, Goodwood, for a gala evening of
vintage-themed glamour, entertainment and conviviality.

Following welcome drinks, the assembled company enjoyed a silent
auction and dancing to music from across the decades, courtesy of
local seven-piece band Taylor Maid. The evening culminated in the
presentation of a cheque for £13,170 representing the final sum raised
by employees across Rolls-Royce, in addition to monies already donated
through other events held during Home-Start Arun, Worthing &
Adur’s 12-month tenure as House Charity. In addition, the fundraising
evening itself raised almost £10,000.

Catherine Hobson, Development Manager at Home-Start, who
masterminded the Vintage themed event said, “It was a pleasure to
invite our supporters to Rolls-Royce for the fundraising evening. Our
Charity Patron, Mrs Sarah King, was particularly impressed with the
warm welcome, fun atmosphere and support from the Rolls-Royce team.
The whole year has been a pleasure and we are thrilled to have raised
funds, to be spent immediately supporting families going through
challenging times. One in five families referred to us cannot be
supported due to lack of resources but this money, raised at our
jointly held event, will go some way to helping a further ten families.”

This fond farewell does not mark the end of the relationship, or
the company’s support, however. In November 2019, for example,
Rolls-Royce hosted an event for the Snowdrop Trust, which was House
Charity more than a decade ago. The company is now looking forward to
planning fundraising activities on behalf of its 2020 House Charity,
Families of Ocean Ward.

Andrew Ball, Head of Corporate Relations, Heritage and
Philanthropy, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, said, “Each year, our House
Charity becomes a genuine part of the Rolls-Royce family. They are
nominated, chosen and supported entirely by our employees, so there’s
real interest and engagement across the business. The farewell event
is always a poignant moment, because we’ve formed a deep relationship
over the preceding 12-months; but that sense of connection also means
there’s a real determination to maintain links and involvement in the
charity’s life and work in the longer term.”

He concluded, “Working with Home-Start Arun, Worthing & Adur
and seeing the highly challenging but incredibly rewarding work they
do at first hand has been a tremendous privilege and pleasure for us;
we wish them every success in the future.”

Press Contact: Andrew Ball
Tel: +44-1243-384-064
E-mail: andrew.ball@rolls-roycemotorcars.com

Corporate,Press Release,Home of Rolls-Royce

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars is pleased to announce that applications are
now open for its 2020 Apprenticeship Programme. Now in its 14th year,
the scheme is open to candidates of all ages and backgrounds.

Since its launch in 2006, the principal focus of the Rolls-Royce
Apprenticeship programme has been to provide practical training in the
specialist craft skills required to build ‘the best car in the world’.
Apprentices spend two to four years at the Home of Rolls-Royce in
Goodwood, West Sussex, working alongside the company’s world-class
craftspeople in Assembly, Woodshop, Surface Finish, Leathershop, Parts
Quality and Total Vehicle Quality Management.

Many apprentices go on to take up full-time employment with the
company, often progressing to senior supervisory, technical and
management roles. The Programme also enables candidates to acquire
transferable skills, knowledge and qualifications that broaden their
horizons and employment options, through formal vocational study at
local further education colleges.

The programme was expanded in 2019 with the introduction of the
Sir Ralph Robins Degree Apprenticeship. To complement practical
training, candidates study to degree level, including BEng in
Mechanical Engineering at the University of Chichester’s new
Engineering & Digital Technology Park. The number of places on
offer has doubled for 2020.

Torsten Müller-Ötvös, Chief Executive Officer of Rolls-Royce
Motor Cars, said, “Our Apprenticeship Programme is one of our greatest
achievements, providing unique professional and personal development
opportunities for talented people. I am delighted that so many of our
previous apprentices are still with us and it is very satisfying to
know that Rolls-Royce trained craftspeople are contributing to the
wider success of British manufacturing.

“Our Degree Apprenticeships were created in 2019 to recognise
the contribution to the business of Sir Ralph Robins, one of
Rolls-Royce’s Non-Executive Directors. The response was phenomenal:
the volume and quality of applications showed that this new pathway
answered a real need.”

All applicants take part in a rigorous selection process
designed to assess their individual strengths, aptitudes, personal
qualities and potential. Successful candidates will join the company
in August 2020.

The launch is timed to coincide with National Apprenticeship
Week (3-7 February 2020). This year’s event is based on the theme
‘Look Beyond’, and celebrates the diversity and value that
apprenticeships bring to employers, apprentices and communities across
England today.

Candidates for all Apprentice positions should apply online.

Applications close on 15 March 2020.

Press Contact: Andrew Ball
Tel: +44-1243-384-064
E-mail: andrew.ball@rolls-roycemotorcars.com

Corporate,People,Press Release,Home of Rolls-Royce
